Robert Longo's photorealistic charcoal drawings demonstrate both terror and beauty, as well as the technical man-made possibilities to influence them. Powerful monster waves, sharks and terrorizing images of atom bomb explosions, but also sleeping children, roses and Gothic cathedrals are among the motives of his sublime graphic work. Relentlessly and seismographically precise Longo depicts the state of our world. He continuously succeeds in expressing the anxieties and desires of the viewer, hitting him with full force.
