Pen and ink drawing and pen and ink drawing in brown over pencil.
Titled and numbered "Z 4" in lower right and monogrammed in image respectively, as well as inscribed "T.B. 43" in lower margin. Both sheets with dimensions. On slightly structued wove paper, one sheet laminated on green board. Size of sheet: 14 x 17.2 cm (5.5 x 6.7 in) and 15,4 x 7,7 cm (6,1 x 3 in).
Lamination board with inscriptions by two different hands on verso (trimmed) "[..] am Matterhorn / die obere Schweizerhütte".
Both drawings served as models for the book "Im Hochgebirge. Wanderungen von Emil Zsigmondy, mit Abbildungen von E.T. Compton", released by Duncker & Humblot, Leipzig 1889. [CB].
