"Whenever I am asked to talk about any of my pictures I prefer to talk about its materiality, about the picture as object. But i am quite aware - and I have said it time and again – that a picture's reality is much more complex. This reality has a triangular basis that unfolds between the object, that is the painting, me, the creator, and the observer.
