This print offers insight into Lyonel Feininger's working methods. Annotations refer to both printing as well as the cleaning of the printing block. The meticulous inscription suggests how important the correct print was to Feininger. Sheets of this kind are irreplacable documents of artistic development. It seems that Leona E. Prasse, editor of the catalog raisonné of graphic works, did not know this sheet.
