Schlangenhautbecher. Ca. 1687-1691.
Silver, with remains of gilt tooling. Wall with neatly chiseled snakeskin decor. Slightly conical shape with profiled lip and narrow stand.
Height: 10.1 cm (3.9 in). Ca. 178 g.
Hallmark: Johann Betz, master, born around 1659, died 1697 (Seling 2007, no. 1618). Hallmark: Augsburg, presumably 1687-1691 (Seling 2007, no. 890). [CB].
PROVENANCE: Collection Max Geiger.
