Signed lower right, verso inscribed "Vorfrühling". On firm paper. 25,5 x 39,5 cm (10 x 15,5 in), the full sheet. [EH].

Private collection Northern Germany (acquired from aforementioned in 1977).
EXHIBITION: Galerie und Verlag Evelyn Hagenbeck (verso of backing board with typographically inscribed sheet).
The artist was born by the name Karl Schmidt in Rottluff in 1884, today a part of Chemnitz. In 1905 he adopted the name of his hometown as part of his name. This wotrk was made there, in its lucent coloring it is a continuation of earlier works.
