"An edition remarkable alike for the type and for the beauty of the illustrations" (Lewine). - "Der Molière von 1773 wird mit Recht zu den Glanzleistungen der Illustrationskunst im achtzehnten Jahrhundert gezählt" (Fürstenberg S. 109). - Mit den 2 seltenen Kartonbll. im ersten Band (S. 66-67 und 80-81 doppelt paginiert). - Vereinz. schwach gebräunt oder gering stockfleckig. Rücken und Kanten leicht berieben, Einbde. an Gelenke, Ecken und Kapitalen fachgerecht restauriert, 1 VDeckel gelöst, RSch. vereinz. mit kl. Läsuren, 2 Rücken mit Knickspur. Trotz der Mängel noch gutes und dekoratives Exemplar mit gest. Wappen-Exlibris.

Spine and edges slightly rubbed, joints and edges skillfully restored, 1 front board detached, few labels with small defective spot, 2 spines with crease.
