Focillon 39. Hind 16 II (of III). Robison 42 V (of VI). Signed and Roman numbered in plate. Excellent strong impression on laid paper with broad margin around platemark and usual centerfold. 40,5 x 55,2 cm (15,9 x 21,7 in). Sheet: 60 x 89,3 cm (23,6 x 35,2 in).
State of second edition, which Piranesi published himself and increased it from fourteen to sixteen sheets. The fourth volume of this second edition was published from the mid 1770s up until ca. 1835 .[CB].
