Body: gold and copper with enamel painting.
Werk: brass with trimmed iron.
Diameter: 3,8 cm (1,4 in).
Body with enamel painting by Jean Pierre Huaud (1655-1723) and Ami Huaud (1657-1729)
Round shape. Under copper-bordered glass lid, clock face with one hand mode and Roman numbers.
Body:
Rear: Illustration of Kephalos and Prokris as wel as a dog as symbol for loyalty.
Sides: landscape painting. With artist's signature "Les deaux frere huaut pintre de son A.E. de B. à berlin" in center
Inside: River landscape with architecture and wanderer.
Clockwork by Jean Antoine de Choudens (1638-1692).
Full brass plate, winding mechanism for one key, chain/snail, spindle shaft, blue steeöl spiral. Neatly trimmed iron. Buttons with grotesque heads and arabesques as decor motif. With engraved signature "Jean de Choudens".
Variant with similar body in Victoria & Albert Museum, London. Inventory number 236:1&:2-1855.
