Signed and inscribed "Newcastle NSW" lower right (for New South Wales, Australia). 44 x 61 cm (17,3 x 24 in), size of sheet.
The elegant white bark, measuring 1257 net register tons, was built by Russel in 1890 and was in operation for W.O. Taylor & Co. from Dundee until the breakout of WW I. Together with R.A. Borstel, G.L. Godfrey belonged among Australia's most famous ship portraitists and mostly depicted british ships.
