Signed and dated in right, titled "-Matrose-" lower left. On thin board with canvas embossing. 15,2 x 27,4 cm (5,9 x 10,7 in), size of sheet.
Colorful study, executed in an easy duct, which Erich Heckel made during World War I, while he was stationed in Flanders as paramedic. [KD].
The work is registered in the Erich Heckel estate, Hemmenhofen on Lake Constance. We are grateful to Renate Ebner and Hans Geissler for their kind support in cataloging this lot.
