"This adolescent portrait of his majesty Rupprecht, Crown Prince of Bavaria, painted by, was a personal present for Baroness Ilka von Fabrice. After she had died in Florence in 1907, the painting was in possession of (my sister) Duchess Ellinka zu Pappenheim.
Munich, June 1921, Ilma Halm-Nikolai, neé Baroness of Fabrice".
Accompanied by a certificate issued by Dr. Sonja von Baranow, dated 10 May, 1990 (in copy).

Ilka von Fabrice (Dresden 1846-1907 Florence) was a student of Franz von Lenbach and was among the founding members of the 'Münchner Künstlerinnenvereins' in 1882. Between 1883 and 1900 her paintings were shown on international art exhibitions in Munich and Dresden. [CB].
