Nice and complete copy of this fourth and final illustruous register of names of the Fruitbearing Society, one of Baroque's finest books of emblem. With 4 copper titles (rep.) and 400 emblematic coppers by M. Merian. Contemp. vellum with lettering on spine by an old hand. - Plate 269 slightly misprinted and therefore somewhat wiped in places. Plate 254 ("Der Verjüngernde") twice at hand, on the one hand erroneously on l. Ttt/1 with respective marginal annotation as well as correctly on l. Ttt/2. Title with private library stamp, with water stains in places and browned; joints somewhat defective. Modern ex-libris. All in all fine, clean and well preserved copy with the splendid coppers by Merian.
