Twice signed, dated, titled and inscribed "NR.JAN/FEBR.72/303112/3 on verso and with the discarded title "Profil 71". 80 x 100 cm (31,4 x 39,3 in).
Werner Berges uses trompe-l'œil in this work. The application of the paint conveys the impression of a collage, however, this is just because of the paint’s layered arrangement. The color fields form concrete faces from the subjacent grid of lines. The work is exemplarily for the style of the renowned German Pop artist. [EH].
