Imkamp became famous as a portrait painter with more than 500 commissioned works. He was in contact with Klee, Kandinsky and Feininger. In 1945 Imkamp decided to paint only abstract art. In this work Imkamp lets a cristalline pattern without strict line management arise from the painting ground, which creates a non-fathomable space alone through the different coloring. [DB]
