Signed, dated, titled and inscribed "Rom" in upper right. Lower left of original mount dated "Juni 1925" and inscribed "II. fassung", titled "Entwurf für ein Gedenkblatt der Bauernkriege a.d. 1625" lower right. On firm paper, firmly mounted. 47 x 33 cm (18,5 x 12,9 in), visible area.
This work was presumably during Aloys' sojourn in Rome, where he was working by invitation of the 'Vatikanische Missionsaustellung'. There he sold two paintings to the Lateran-Museum and the Collegium Germanicum. [EH].
