Otmar Alt is often called the "story-teller" among German artists. However, his pictures are not illustrations of famous stries or fairy tales but phantasmagorical image prose. In this one Alt shows a figure with cap and bells and claw feet, put together from monochrome color fields like a jigsaw. He ironically asks the observer to find the title in the picture. [DB].
