Cushing p. 107. - Lehnacker 39 and 101ff. - Schauer II, 71. - Waller 990. - 1 of 90 Roman numb. copies (complete print run 725) lacking 130 pp. with explanations on the plates, that were only added to those copies made for the American market. - One of the greatest publications of the Bremer Presse, the "Königin der deutschen Privatpressen" [transl.:"queen of German privat presses "] (Lehnacker). - The plates were printed from the orig. printing blocks, which were made in 1543, and were regained in the attic of the Munich university library, still in very good condition. When Munich was bombed in 1943, the blocks were destroyed, along with the inventory and the library of the Bremer Press. - Inner joints mended. Spine somewhat discolored, spine ends waterstained.
