Jacobacci. - Druck auf festem Vélin. - Papierformat 26,5 : 40,5 cm. Einband ca. 28 : 42,5 cm. - Sämtl. Bde. jew. ohne das bei Brooks und Weiss aufgeführte erste und letzte w. Bl. In Bd. II S. 217-225 mittig mit Braunfleck (ca. 2 cm im Durchmesser). Kanten stellenw. minim. berieben, Bd. III mit Kratzspuren auf den Deckeln. Insgesamt prachtvoller breitrandiger und sauberer Bodoni-Druck.
Famous Bodoni print of Tacitus, 1 of 30 copies of the scarce folio edition. Contemp. red morocco with 3 green labels, rich gilt spine, cover with 2 gilt borders, inside gilt border and gilt edges; in marbled slipcase with calf edges. - Pages 217-225 of vol. II with a brownish stain (about 2 cm in diameter) in the centre of the text and another small stain at the top. Edges here and there rubbed, vol. III with small scratches on covers. Altogether splendid wide-margined and clean Bodoni printing.
