From the collection C. Jahns, a friend and first biographer of Johann Adam Kleins. Jahn's monographic work was released in Munich in 1863 under the title "Das Werk von Johann Adam Klein, Maler und Kupferätzer zu München". [JS].
PROVENANCE: Collection C. Jahn, Gotha (with collector's stamp on verso, Lugt 1397b), as well as with the stamp of an unknown collector (not in Lugt).
Private collection Northern Germany.
