Comprehensive private documentation of a journey around the world. Albums I to III with mounted photographs (4 on each page, size 9 : 11 cm) showing the journey in chronological succession, the fourth volume with mostly large-size photographs is entirely on India. Almost every photograph with ms. captions, thus the collection is well-documented. - The journey began in Genoa (vol. I) went through the Suez Canal into the Indian Ocean to Ceylon (Colombo, Kandy, Peradeniya, Madura, Trichinopolis, Seringham) and on to India (Haiderabad, Madras, Mumbay, Ahmedabad, Mount Abu, Ajmere, Jaipur, Delhi, Agra with Taj Mahal). Album II continues the journey to Northern India (Agra and Benares) over Darjeeling to the Himalayas, Birma (Rangoon) and Malaysia (Pinang), Java (Garoet), Honkong, Shanghai and Nagasaki. Vol. III is on the journey's last part to Japan over Hawaii and to California, with stops in Kyoto, Miyanoshita, Fuji Mountain and Hakone Lake, Tokyo, Nikko, Yokohama, Honolulu, San Francisco and Yosemite valley. The fourth volume contains ca. 35 studio photos (Clifton & Co., Mumbay) and ca. 50 private photographs, each in a size of ca. 15-20,5 : 21-28,5 cm. With numerous views of cities and buildings in India, among them in Ahmedabad, Mumbay, Jaipur, Delhi, Agra and Benares. - Ca. 15 of the small photographs removed.
