Niederlande. - De zegepraalende Vecht, vertoonende verscheidene gesichten van lustplaatsen, heeren huysen en dorpen; beginnende van Uitrecht en met Muyden besluytemde. With coloued illustrated copper title by A. van der Lann after A. de Lairesse, 1 colored engr. map and 102 colored copper views and plans respectively by D. Stoppendaal on 51 plates. Amsterdam, W. N. Visscher 1719. Contemp. marbled calf with gilt spine, red label and double gilt fillet borders with gilt-tooled filigree center panel. Folio. 1 l., 16, 38 pp.

Bln. 2246. - Second print of the first edition, one of the few colored copies, additionally increased by 4 further views of Driemond (94a-d), which are not included in the first print. - One of the finest 18th century books with Dutch mansions and gardens along Vecht, a ca. 40 km long river between Utrecht and Muiden. Particularly interesting in terms of contemporary garden architecture. - Each plate with two copper views, all coppers inscribed in Dutch and French below image. With introductory and explanatory text by A. de Leth (1671-1732), who released the series after the artist's death. The copper 49 shows the visit of Tsar Peter the Great in Ouderhoek in 1717. - Plattenformat ca. 20 : 16 cm. - Browned and (partly stronger) waterstained, 3 plates with rebacked tear (2 longer), throughout with small wormhole in the outer white margins. Boards rubbed.

First edition (the second edition of 2 in the same year), one of only a few colored copies, furthermore enriched with 4 additional views of Driemond (94a-d), which are only found in the later 1719 edition. With col. illustr. engr. title by A. van der Lann after A. de Lairesse, 1 col. engr. map and 102 col. engr. views and plans by D. Stoppendaal on 51 plates. Contemp. mottled calf with gilt spine, red label and double gilt borders with gilt inner panel. - Browned and (partly stronger) waterstained, 3 plates with rebacked tear (2 longer), throughout with small wormhole in the outer white margins.
