One inscribed "33" in lower left. On paper and on light wove paper respectively. Bis 48 x 102 cm (18,8 x 40,1 in), size of sheet
One sheet with a detailed sketch on verso. The first late impressionist drawings in the Lindenau-Museum in Altenburg were made by Ernst Müller-Gräfe in 1911, two of the three murals were completed in 1915. After World War I he created three new versions, which followed Expressionism in terms of forms and colors. In 1919 the 'Flüchtenden' were executed as the first work, today the mural is pasted over by wallpaper. [EH].
We are grateful to Ms. Jutta Penndorf, Lindenau-Museum Altenburg, for her kind support in cataloging this lot.
