The easy late Impressionism of Maria Caspar-Filser and its solidity is a prime example of a painting style that is so closely linked to the artist's roots. Just as Elisabeth and Arnold Balwé, the Caspar couple largely sticks to motifs from the foothills of the Alps. The Chiemsee, Brannenburg and the valley of the river Inn. Caspar-Filser depicted this landscape his very own way, doing entirely without any excessive occupation with the concept of 'home'. Her style is unconventionally fresh and in a coloring that at times is reminiscent of the boldness of late Impressionism. The casual and easy style is revealed in the choice of artistic means, which should be regarded a prime merit of Maria Caspar-Filser's artistic creation. [KD].
