The abundant stroke of color, its sternness just alleviated by the wiped parts, is characteristic for Walter Ophey’s pastel drawings. He said the following on the matter: “I have been drawing a with pastel chalks great deal for 13 years, right in front of nature, and I have always been trying to find the most elementary line.. “.
