Nissen, Zool. 713 (mentions just 23 vols. until 1797); Anker 78; Wood p. 268: "many editions". - First Austrian edition of the well-known work. - With illustrations of cuckoo, cape sugarbird, European bee-eater, swallows, capitonidae, toucan, common kingfisher etc. - According to index, two plates lacking. - Text somewhat stained, 1 l. with padded longer tear, 1 l. with small skinned spots (loss of printed matter), endpaper stamped. Plates almost stainless.
