Signed lower right. Old inscribed "original de Corot - Grotte et Rocher de Franchard Forêt de Fontainebleau avec portrait de Français sous la grotte" on verso. 31 x 44 cm (12,2 x 17,3 in).
With remains of an old label and an old auction label on stretcher.
This work's authenticity has kindly been confirmed orally by Mr Martin Dieterle, Paris, 26 May 2004.
