Nebehay/Wagner 464. - Lipperheide Ebd 1. - Nitsche/Stender 482. - Third and last edition of the famous work, first published in 1602. Extensive contemporary chronic of the Ottoman Wars, with views of all major battle sites, mainly from a bird's eye perspective. The coppers partly carry the monogram LS, presumably for the artist Lucas Schnitzler (cf. Nebehay/W.). The book also contains portraits of the warlords involved on both sides. This copy contains additional portrait plates in comparison with Nebehay/W. 9. [abbr. translation:"The first part contains ... the history of Hungary from 1395 to 1607. The historical depiction is introduced by a geographic, scientific and ethnographic description. Richly decorated with copper engravings."] (Nitsche/Stender) - Partly slightly waterstained and with minor worming, 1 plate with larger marginal tear-out (no loss of image); lacking half title of part 2.
