One of the most recognised botanic works of the 18th century. "This edition is artistically superior to Blackwell's Curious Herbal on which it is only partly based. The first 500 plates by N. F. Eisenberger, were copied from Blackwell's plates but are much more carefully drawn, engraved and coloured, and have alterations and additional material." (De Belder) - Complete copy of the nice herbal. The splendid coppers with Latin and German descriptions of the plants on the plates. - Few stains in places of the margins, stronger on 5 plates, 3 plates or title with rebacked tear. Binding rubbed. All in all nice and clean copy of the important herbal.
Complete copy of the Trew edition of the famous botanical book. 6 engr. color. titles and 615 engr. color. plates. Contemp. half vellum. - Partly only very slighlty stained, 5 plates stronger, 3 plates or titles with rebacked tear. Bindings rubbed. Overall a beautiful and clean copy.
