Sonntagsfreuden (Im Paradiesgarten). Um 1900-10.
EXPERTISE: The authenticity of this work has kindly been confirmed in written form (fax) by Detlev Rosenbach, Hanover
In good condition, colours stillf fresh. All in all minimally discoloured. With slight fold mark along the edges as well as partially with thin spots. The parts of the milk bottle and the sailor dress minimally rubbed.
Watercoloured India ink and Chalk drawing.
Signed lower left. Signed and titled "Im Paradiesgarten" on the reverse. Encircled with ink margin. On copper plate printing paper (with embossed stamp). 43,9 : 33,3 cm (17,2 : 13,1 in), size of sheet. The present drawing deftly depicts the quirky lifestyle led at the time by the residents of Berlin in all its intensity and teeming urban profusion. The colours and detailed execution make this a particularly fine example of the artist’s work. [AS]
