Bronze with dark brown patina.
Descharnes 683. With the artist's name, the number 145/330 and the foundry mark "Foneria Mibrosa Barcelona". 30 : 60 cm (11,8 : 23,6 in). The fanning out of the human body with drawers is a popular subject in the artist's Œuvre. Already in 1936 it appears in the pen and ink drawing "La Cité des tiroirs", the direct preliminary study of the painting "Le Cabinet antropomorphique". In 1965 the chronology of the motif is furthered by Dalí with the lithograph "Drawers of Memory" (Michler/Löpsinger 1145). Finally the subject is translated into a three dimensional medium with this bronze. [RS]
Good overall impression. Minimally shop-soiled. With isolated, tiny traces of oxidation and a few small scratch marks and bumps.
