Also with the two (separately published) portrait vols. - Khevenhiller's history of counter-reformation can be regarded as the Catholic response to Merian's Theatrum Europaeum. The annals belong to the main works of Austrian historiography and contain an extensive record on the Thirty Years' war. - The plates with numerous city views, among them Bonn, Brunswick, Breda, Budapest, Linz, Magdeburg, Nördlingen, Regensburg, Prague, Wolfenbüttel; also with important historical scenes, festivities, etc. - The nice portraits (engr. by Bernigeroth, Brühl, C. Fritzsch, Krügner, Mentzel, Rosbach et al.) with illustrations of all important kings, sovereigns, religious dignitaries and other regents from the era of Ferdinand II. and the Thirty Years' war. - The reference works disagree on the number of plates in the portrait vol., as some had been planned, but remained unpublished.- Main title and dedication ll. of the Annales (incl. frontisp. & 1 heraldic plate) erroneously bound before the first portrait vol. - Text foxed and browned (plates hardly affecetd), few ll. wormed, each title with an old stamp. Cover slightly rubbed, spine ends or joints partly slightly damaged. Decorative copy. - Engr. armorial bookplate.
