Salomon. - Gewaschenes Exemplar. Ohne das letzte weiße Bl. - Wappen-Exlibris.
Second edition, the first with explanatory text and the first published collection of devices that were used by prominent people of the period (the crowned salamander of Francis I, the three crescents of Henry II, emperor Charles V's device, the Golden Fleece etc.). With grotesque woodcut titleborder (ostrich), 182 emblemat. text woodcuts with Latin captions and woodcut printer's device at end. 19th cent. morocco with gilt spine. - Lacking last blank. Washed copy. - Heraldic bookplates.
