Shirley 531,2. - Weltkarte in zwei Hemisphären. In den Zwickeln mit dem Nord- und Südpol, der übrige Raum mit dekorativen allegorischen Darstellungen der Jahreszeiten. Mit dem nicht ausgefüllten Schriftband in der Darstellung, und dem Privileg (erteilt 1686), anhand dessen Shirley die Karte datiert. - Mit Kalifornien als Insel. - "His 'Mappe-monde' was probably copied from Jaillot's influential world map of 1674 as both the geographical features and the title are similar. In contrast to the plain corners of Jaillot's map Valck has engraved four lively scenes in baroque style." - Gering gebräunt und teils angeschmutzt. In den Darstellungsrändern mit kl. Löchern durch Wurmfraß, im Bereich der Mittelfalte mit kl. hinterl. Läsuren und kl. Fehlstelle in der linken Darstellungshälfte. Knapp beschnitten, im rechten Rand verstärkt.
Double hemisphere world map with two additional polar maps in the cusps. With California as an island. - Slightly browned and partly soiled. With small wormholes in the margins of the illustration, in the centrefold with small backed tears and small defective spot in the left part of the illustration. Trimmed, reinforced in the left margin.
