• Up until today, the series "Daphnis and Chloé" is the strongest document of Chagall's great graphic mastery.
• In 1959-1961, Marc Chagall illustrated the ancient bucolic story of Daphnis and Chloé for Tériade.
• Lyrical sheet conveying the summer's idyllic ambiance and abundance.
PROVENANCE: Private collection North Rhine-Westphalia.
In good condition with fine colors. Minimally soiled in places of outer margins. Left edge slightly trimmed, right edge slightly crimped.
