• The depiction is based on the painting "Frau mit Tasche" (1915), a portrait of the art historian Rosa Schapire, the first author of the catalog raisonné of Schmidt-Rottluff's prints.
PROVENANCE: Hermann Gerlinger Collection, Würzburg (SHG no. 145 a, with the collector's stamp on the reverse, Lugt 6032).
