Ebner/Gabelmann 989 lII (of III). Dube L 365 V (of V). Signed, dated, titled and inscribed "IV. Z.". On wove paper. 37.7 x 32.3 cm (14.8 x 12.7 in). Sheet: 56 x 46 cm (22 x 18,1 in).
After he had finished teaching at the Karlsruhe Academiy, Erich Heckel got a hand press for his studio. He began to experiment with color lithographs printed from several superimposed stones, as is the case with this sheet.

• Hand-printed.
• Other to date known copies are at the Museum Folkwang, Essen, and the Staatliche Kunsthalle, Karlsruhe, as well as in the estate.
PROVENANCE: Hermann Gerlinger Collection, Würzburg (with the collector's stamp, Lugt 6032).
