• Extreme composition and motif from the beginning of the First World War.
• For the expressive art of Expressionism, living through extreme states of mind and an emotionalized view of reality are of central importance.
• The preoccupation with emotionally and mentally extreme situations demonstrates the contemporary fascination with the subconscious and the uncontrolled.
• Created in direct connection with Heckel's painting "Irre beim Essen" (Hüneke 1914-25).
• Extensive exhibition history
.
