With a dedication to "P. Holsteinen" as well as signed and dated. On brownish wove paper. 34 x 23 cm (13.3 x 9 in), the full sheet.

• Made during the artist's first stay on the island Alsen with Emil Nolde in 1906.
• Present from the artist to Paul Holstein (1884–1947), friend and fellow student of Heckels and Schmidt-Rottluff, as well as the first passive "Brücke" member.
The work is documented in the archive of the Karl and Emy Schmidt-Rottluff Foundation Berlin.
