Two Woodcuts.
Ebner/Gabelmann 1019 H a and b (of b). Dube H 433 a and b (of b). Each signed and dated. Each dated "1961" in printing block. Sheet a inscribed with a dedicationb "Mit guten Wünschen S. u. E. H.". Two prints from a total of presumably 100 copies. Sheet a on firm laid paper, sheet b on firm wove paper. Each 18.2 x 12.6 cm (7.1 x 4.9 in). Sheet: each ca. 23,3 x 17,1 cm (9,2 x 6,7 in).
Regarding the print run, Heckel noted on the rear of the printing block: "93 Drucke 1960 + 7 Drucke farbig". The artist made the early "Jahresblätter" (annual sheets) from memory in an edition of ca. 60 copies, later some 90-100 copies were printed. [AR].
• Two versions of the "30. Jahresblatts", one printed in black and one in colors.
• Heckel made only a few copies of the color prints.
• Between 1930 and 1968 (except for 1941), Heckel sent the "Jahresblätter" to friends and family as New Year greetings.
PROVENANCE: Hermann Gerlinger Collection, Würzburg (with the collector's stamp, Lugt 6032).
