Twice signed, three times dated and titled (printed characters), as well as barely legibly inscribed on the reverse. 170.5 x 140 cm (67.1 x 55.1 in). [CH].
• In his expressive portraits and figure depictions, the artist creates an often mysterious, mystical-romanticizing or even disturbing atmosphere by means of different, partly shadowy and blurred layers of paint.
• In this work offered here the emotional intensity of the screaming female figure is also reflected by the energetic brushstrokes.
• In 2010 and 2012, Šárovec won the VII. International Biennial Drawing of Plzen and the V. International Concurs of Drawing, Wroclaw.
PROVENANCE: Private collection North Rhine-Westphalia.
LITERATURE: Nakladatelství Melena (editor), Martin Šárovec 1997-2017, Prague 2017, p. 78 (with full-page color illu.).
Large work in strong colors and in good condition. With isolated spots of slight craquelure, partly with minimal clodding. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the help of an ultraviolet light and to the best of knowledge.
