PROVENANCE: Joachim von Ribbentrop (presumably acquired from the artist).
Confiscated by U.S. Allied Commission for Austria (June 1945)(USACA) Section, Kitzbühel.
Salzburg Art Depot, owned by the Austrian state (with the stamp of the 'Bundesdenkmalamt Salzburg' on the reverse, July 6, 1945-1950).
Anneliese von Ribbentrop (returned from the above in 1950).
Private collection Southern Germany.
LITERATURE: Extract of Inventory of Ribbentrop Property Stored in PC Warehouse(Records of Property Released from Salzburg, S7.6001 Sa Von Ribbentrop, S. 28 & 44– NARA Washington D.C., DN1929, roll 128).
In good condition. Slightly faded and soiled. Margins rubbed from framing, with isolated color loss and minimal discolorations. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the help of an ultraviolet lamp and to the best of knowledge. [CE]
