Bronze with dark brown patina.
Gerke 33. Bottom right of plinth with monogram. Verso of plinth numbered and with the foundry mark "Guss Strehle". One of 13 copies. 34.5 x 13 x 14.5 cm (13.5 x 5.1 x 5.7 in). [SM].
• In 1920 Roeder became established as sculptor in the circle around Käthe Kollwitz.
• In the 1930s she received a scholarship for the Villa Romana in Florence.
• Sensitive example of her characteristic reduced pictorial language.
