Lohberg 1942. Lower right signed and dated "53". Verso dated "55" and "1955", titled and inscribed "Fritz Winter / Diessen". 75 x 100 cm (29.5 x 39.3 in). [EH].
• Fritz Winter is considered one of the most important protagonists of this period.
• Works by the artist were already on display in two exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, in the 1950s.
• From fall 2023, the Neue Galerie in Kassel dedicated a solo exhibition to the artist entitled "Fritz Winter. documenta-Künstler der ersten Stunde".

LITERATURE: Gabriele Lohberg, Fritz Winter. Leben und Werk mit Werkverzeichnis der Gemälde und einem Anhang der sonstigen Techniken, Munich, 1986, no. 1942 (illustrated in black and white).
In good condition.Corners and edges minimally rubbed in places. Lower margin with small retouching. Center right margin with overpainted loss in the upper paper layer. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the help of an ultraviolet light and to the best of knowledge.
