Lower right signed, dated and titled. On J. Whatman wove paper (with truncated watermark). 54 x 68.5 cm (21.2 x 26.9 in), the full sheet.

• Created on a trip to France in 1926, which inspired the artist to produce spontaneous yet masterfully composed watercolors.
• The coastal strip, painted entirely in orange and brown, contrasts with the soft blue of the sky and the sea.
• Offered on the international auction market for the first time (source: artprice.com).

In good condition. With two small, unobtrusive marginal tears in lower left and in the center of the right margin (approx. 0.5 - 1 cm) and with a few small brownish stains, mainly along the right margin.
