Pen and ink drawing over pencil, partly with slight wash.
Lower maregin inscribed "Ist der Hans nicht ein Tausentschelm" in pencil. On creme laid paper. 12.2 x 14.5 cm (4.8 x 5.7 in), size of sheet.
• Detailed preliminary drawing for one of Adrian Ludwig Richter's most populau woodcut illustrations.
• Important precursor of modern Germa woodcuts .

Ever since family-owned.
In good condition. With few isolated tiny brownish stains in margins. Verso with narrow consistent glue mounting.
The condition report was compiled in daylight and to the best of knowledge.
