BV012169754. - Adams P 1583. - Schweiger II, 789. - Choulant pp. 193f. - Not in BM STC and in Wellcome and Durling. - Rare Heidelberg edition of the classic work, with commentary by Pintianus and the annotations by Gelenius and Beatus Rhenanus. The index was released with a separate title leaf and publisher's imprint "Lugduni, apud Petrum Santandreanum 1582". - First part lacking 2 ll. (pp. 215-218, with addenda by hand). Somewhat browned in places, foxed and with water marks. Binding scraped and slightly scuffed, pastedown with dedication leaf. - With autogr. ownership entry by Johann Ludwig Choulant, professor of medicine and bibliographer, dated 1827 on verso of title leaf, who obviously used this copy for his Handbuch der Bücherkunde für die ältere Medicin, published in 1828 and who wrote the entry mentioned above.
