PROVENANCE: Private collection Mainz, acquired directly from artist.

Croissant's style is coined by a geometric-abstract use of forms. The figurative forms his works are based on seem to be wrapped like mummys, almost armored, in their 'disguise' they keep a distance that makes them invincible. Heads are the main motifs of the artist's floor plastics. He reduces the forms to the essential and thus adds an archaic anonymity to the sculptures. [DB].
