Beuys, Christo and Richter for less than € 1,000
(aabykk) - art.auctions by Ketterer Kunst make it happen! After the enormous success and repeated demand last year, it’s about to happen again on February 3, 2007: starting at 4 pm, some 350 objects by world-famous artists can be bought online at our Old Masters & Modern Art & Post War live auction.
Live online art auctions by Ketterer Kunst in 2006 attracted dealers and numerous clients from abroad, who appreciated the convenience of bidding online. Moreover, the "Great Names at Affordable Prices" concept also made a hit with a young public enthusiastic about art but not always able to afford it.
The particularly enticing prices at the forthcoming auction are equally sure to attract a great many bidders. A wooden postcard by Joseph Beuys is to be called at € 144. A Victor Vasarely colour silk screen print can be had for just € 88 and the Pablo Picasso binding for the catalogue "Dessins d’un demi-siècle" might be yours for € 104. Christo’s colour offset litho "Wrapped Reichstag" carries the same estimate and two works by Gerhard Richter (see illustration above) are estimated to fetch between € 400 and € 500.
In addition to some works from the 15th-19 th centuries, by Giovanni Battista Piranesi, Claude Lorrain and Adolph von Menzel, to name just three illustrious names, the auction boasts such classics as Ernst Barlach, Georg Baselitz, Max Beckmann, Marc Chagall, Keith Haring, Erich Heckel, Karl Hofer, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Horst Janssen, Sigmar Polke and Andy Warhol.
All objects are on view from today under "art.auctions Old Masters & Modern Art & Post War" at www.kettererkunst.com. Bids in writing can be made below detail views of the particular work or directly at Bids Find out more about bidding live online from January 26, 2007, at www.kettererkunst.com.
Presale viewings of all objects are scheduled for Th, January 25, 2007, and Fr, 26 January, 2007, from 11 am to 3 pm in our Hamburg showrooms at Messberg 1.
Since it was founded in 1954, Ketterer Kunst has been firmly established in the front ranks of auction houses dealing in art and rare books. While the Munich headquarters in the Prinz-Alfons-Palais is responsible for the two traditional annual auctions of Modern Art & Post War, the Messberghof in Hamburg is the venue for two auctions a year each based on the following fields: Old Masters and Art of the 19th Century/Marine Art and Rare Books - Autographs - Manuscripts - Decorative Prints as well as Modern Art & Post War, with a focus on works on paper. In addition, exhibitions, special auctions, benefit auctions for charity and live auctions online are regular events at Ketterer Kunst.
