PROVENANCE: Private collection North Germany.

The delicate poetry of this composition is conveyed primarily in the palette. Oscillations and shades correspond, in this like a musical intermezzo. Reichel’s long-standing friendship with Paul Klee left traces in Reichel’s work yet Klee’s intellectually calculated irony is missing in Reichel, who formed moods and impressions in color. Thus an overall impression emerges that conveys sincere feeling in floating poetry. Reichel’s works are visually readily accessible, reproducing dreamworlds that keep a secret waiting to be deciphered. [KD]
